The awards and recognition continue to pile up for senior Bobcat soccer player Anthony Peters (pictured). With the announcement of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA) Division II All-American team on Friday, Peters can now add All-American honors to his list of personal achievements.
Peters, a 6'5", 200 pound senior from Baton Rouge, LA, tallied seven goals and two assists for a season total of 16 points. He carried a shot on goal percentage of .405 and was credited for three game winning goals.
To go along with his All-American honors, Peters was recently named the WVIAC Player of the Year. He also earned a spot on the All-WVIAC team as well as the NSCAA All-Atlantic Region team.
Head coach Gavin Donaldson was pleased to hear of Peters honors and said that his talent and leadership would be missed next season.
"Anthony was well deserving of this award," Donaldson said. "As a leader of this team, he played a large role in our success. He is not your prototypical Division II athlete and it will be a challenge to replace him."
Wesleyan finished the season with a record of 11-8-2 and won the regular season WVIAC championship.
